TabletopJournal has written before about the creative ways of the Glass Studio designers & artisans and the custom showplates done St. Regis Saaidyat Island are another fine example. Banquet service is often associated with elegant dining setting, tasteful food presentation and bespoke service. When it comes to banqueting in a luxury hotel setting, the stakes are high in the aim to create a truly extraordinary and memorable experiences. Tabletop design plays the key role in creating that special, festive mood, and thoughtfully designed tableware truly comes to light. In this post we share with you our custom dinnerware designs for the banqueting service at the St. Regis Saaidyat Island hotel.
The show plates design features a soft geometric pattern that mimics the elegant motive on the ceilings. Show plates feature a combination of clear glass with gold rim and gold pattern that compliment the yellow/beige color scheme of the tabletop design. At the center of the design is the St. Regis signature logo, which helps create a memorable connection between the banqueting occasion and the bespoke experience provided by the hotel. Glass side bowl with lid.......from Glass Studio, of course. From Sensi Sushi in Warsaw.
Expect the unexpected. From Glass Studio. TabletopJournal has written about the creative talents at the Glass Studio before an they have worked their artistic talents again at the Intercontinental Hotel, The City in Doha, Qatar. Glass Studio‘s designers worked closely with the restaurant’s F&B team on creating stylish tableware. Dinnerware designs for this restaurant included glassshow plates and bread and butter plates, caviar presentation plates, appetizer plates, wine buckets and table accessories such as napkin rings. The design of show plates featured minimal round shape and metallic pearl color, evoking the color of sea shells. Show plates featured baroque floral design, which perfectly matched the pattern of the black and white mosaic floors and offered interesting contrast to the marble tabletops. The design that Glass Studio used for the bread and butter plates was based on round shape in white color with pearly finish. We used tattoo-like pattern in black color at the side of the plate, which matched the print of the restaurant’s logo. The same pattern was also used on the appetizer plates so as to carry on with the theme. To see the Glass Studio collection, go here: www.the-glass-co.com The creative team from Glass Studio Japan recently worked on tabletop designs for the event organized by their client Shimazu Shigetomiso hotel (Kagoshima, Japan). The event was hosted by famous Japanese journalist and lifestyle expert Anri Schroff, who delivered a lecture on party coordination. The concept of the event was “elegance and spring”, and the decor of the venue was styled to reflect this theme. Naturally, the tabletops were the center of attention, and Glass Studio‘s team presented several tabletop ideas as an inspiration. The Glass Studio team presented several ideas for table settings, using Glass Studio dinnerware from various collections. Although each table setup was unique, all ideas were conceptualized under the same theme: spring, elegant, and stylish. Glass Studio does some incredible presentations with both their custom and their "standard" (nothing truly "standard" about them!) collections. Glass dessert serving pieces from the Glass Studio people......this time it's the tea lounge at the Park Hyatt in Abu Dhabi.
Nice. Very...Very Nice. From The Westin Mumbai Garden City hotel comes these fun glass pieces from the skilled designers at The Glass Studio. Glass Studio continues to show that great creative tabletop doesn't always have to be complicated ... simply well thought out. TabletopJournal loves the simplicity of the apple amenity tray. Nothing too complicated, but a beautiful - and simple - way to make an in room fruit display infinitely more attractive (even in-room dining can be theater!). And tell me that glass box for the chocolates wouldn't be a great after dinner surprise in nearly ANY dining room! Glass Studio continues to provide an incredible amount of creative tabletop inspiration. You can learn more about these artisans, by going here:

This time its in the Cayman Islands at Blue Cilantro, the contemporary dining showcase of Chef Shetty Vidyadhara. Uniting East and West, it was CANAL BLUE from Glass Studio’s Pearl Collection that Blue Cilantro selected to be the perfect compliment to the Mediterranean, French, Indian, and Caribbean cuisines offered on their menu. The blue hue of Glass Studio’s CANAL BLUE perfectly embodied the subtle blue tones throughout the restaurant’s interior, a gentle reminder of the restaurant name – Blue Cilantro. Named by Fodor’s as one of the top 5 restaurants on Grand Cayman (even though its only been open a few months!), Blue Cilantro is clearly a destination for enjoying exotic culinary treats…..on a terrific tabletop created by The Glass Studio. This new property is composed of two hotel towers, each designed with its own distinctive style: ”Grand” - an epitome of contemporary luxury and “Ixir” – an ode to traditional elegance. Located in the center of Manama and adjacent to the Bahrain City Centre Mall, the property is in the heart of the city’s urban life. Equipped with 450 rooms and suites, eight restaurants and bars, landscape terrace pool and a wide range of relaxation facilities, the hotel is an oasis for leisure and entertainment. Hotel offers wide spectrum of culinary experiences, ranging from Middle Eastern dishes at “Baharat” and gourmet European and Mediterranean flavors at “Saveur” and “Nasmat” to elegant afternoon teas and delicious pastry at “T-Spoon”. Glass Studio played an important role in hotel’s opening and created various dinnerware designs for its all-day-dining venues, high tea service and room amenities. Here you can see their custom-made designs for high tea service. In the aim to deliver truly outstanding dining experience to visitors, hotels’s renowned Executive Chef Holger Jackisch desired truly original and creative dinnerware designs for food presentation. He teamed up with Glass Studio‘s experienced designers to make this idea come true. The result - a custom made design, centered on the creation of a high tea stand that would not only be functional and practical, but would also have a symbolic value. Following Chef Jackisch’s vision, the design of the tea stand featured four thin caved metal bars intersecting at the top and holding a metal ball – thus reminiscing Manama’s Sail and Pearl Monuments. Not incidentally, this shape also corresponds to the hotel’s signature logo. This transformed a typical 3-tier stand with square glass plates into a unique dinnerware piece. Accompanying the concept of high tea service, Chef also added glass spoons for creamy dessert items. Attention to details and creative take on the high tea presentation allowed our designers to create a unique and elegant dinnerware piece. Here is how Chef Holger Jackisch described his Glass Studio experience: “Glasstudio is the tool to use when do you want to put your imagination into reality. They have a fantastic team of skilled people which not only do glass plates but just anything made out of glass. I just designed an afternoon tea stand with them which was born on my drive to work. I had in my head for weeks, sketched it on paper and had countless telephone conversations with their staff. At the end it was the best tea stand I have ever done. I can only recommend to anybody who is into design and creativity to go in touch with this great company and just have fun with their glass items.” You can view the entire collection of My Glass Studio's products by going here: http://www.the-glass-co.com/myglassstudio/ (be sure to leave the audio - great music)
